Our Focus

Storehouse Church's focus is on People. People are what Jesus TREASURES, so we aim to pursue our Master's focus.

Mission

We exist to see people, families, and communities transformed by the power of the God who loves them.

Family

As a family-integrated congregation, we aim at a God-centered biblically based Christian life.

Identity

All who have true faith in Jesus Christ are born of God, made a new creation, and made disciples.

Why Storehouse?

Our mindset towards things on this earth dramatically shapes our actions. When we treasure success, we pursue acclaim. When we treasure money, we pursue business. When we treasure things, we work to accumulate stuff.

Yet, even God’s people can pursue good things, but not the best things. When we pursue souls, we evangelize and leave them on the streets. When we pursue denominational success, we baptize and put money in the treasury.

But when we pursue Christ, we value what He values…people.

The name Storehouse comes
from Matthew 6:19-21,

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where
thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to seek and save that which was lost, to gather to Himself people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Jesus treasures people, and brings people into His eternal storehouse. The only treasure on this earth that we can bring with us into eternity is people.

Storehouse Church is where people are treasured. Not their wallets, not the fame, not their talents, but the whole individual, regardless of where they came from and what they do. The aim is to store up treasure where moth and rust cannot destroy, to bring people into Christ’s STOREHOUSE.

What Bible Translation?

At Storehouse Church, we're committed to making God's Word accessible, clear, and transformative for everyone in our congregation—from longtime disciples to those encountering Scripture for the first time. One significant way we support this mission is through our use of the New Living Translation (NLT) in worship and teaching.

ANOTHER CHURCH?
What's different about Us?

While most churches focus on building funds, baptisms, offerings, and self-image, we at STOREHOUSE focus on people. We are committed to making disciples of those who are far from God -- not stealing disciples from other churches. In like manner, we are equally committed to strengthening disciples of Christ to know Him more and work more for the advancement of His kingdom.

You won't find consumer-based Christianity here, but rather a Biblical Christianity that expects the people to participate in Christ's work -- treasuring people by making and strengthening disciples. We are not just a meeting; we are a gathering of ordinary people who have captured the heart of Christ—People are Treasure.

It's ALL
About Christ

Travs Maxey
Pastor

Out of physical brokenness, I began to read the Bible in 2012. Through reading the Scriptures, I understood this one great truth: "I was a great sinner in need of a GREATER SAVIOR." This is where my new life began. I went from death to life, and EVERYTHING began to change. God is in the TRANSFORMATION business.

Since then, much has happened; my wife, Angela, and I had 7 amazing children. I received a couple of degrees, had some surgeries, lost some things, but gained more. God has proven Himself faithful to His Word and His people.

Confession

We at Storehouse Church affirm these non-negotiable TRUTHS of our faith.

The Gospel

The Bible teaches that the gospel of Jesus Christ and His kingdom, is of first and foremost importance (1 Cor 15:1-3). We are in unity with all who have believed and hold to the biblical gospel. The gospel constitutes the death of Jesus for sins in accordance with the Scriptures, His burial, and His resurrection on the third day in fulfillment of the Scriptures. God has commanded that all people, everywhere must repent and believe the gospel to be saved from the wrath of God that presently abides on unbelievers (John 3:36). This wrath will come to completion in the final judgment at the end of the age. God has given proof of this fact by raising Jesus from the dead (Acts 17:30-31).

The Trinity

The Bible teaches that there is one eternal God (Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4). The one true God exists in three distinct Persons who share the same divine nature. The Father is God (1 Corinthians 8:6; John 6:27; 1 Peter 1:2). The Son is God (John 1:1; 1:18; 20:28; Hebrews 1:8). The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:9). There is One God. The Father is not the Son and/or the Spirit. The Son is not the Father and/or the Spirit. The Spirit is not the Father and/or the Son. The one God exists in three divine Persons who are co-existent, co-eternal, and co-equal (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is fully God and fully man, the only begotten of the Father (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35). That He laid aside His right to act as God (Philippians 2:7), to walk as the perfect man on this earth (1 Peter 2:22), died a substitutionary death on the cursed tree (Galatians 3:13), rose from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4), was made our High Priest and propitiator for sin (Hebrews 2:17), and serves as Lord and Christ (Liberating King) (Acts 2:36).

The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). As the Word of God, the Bible is the ultimate and final authority on all matters of faith and truth. We believe that the Scriptures are completely without error in their original manuscripts and that the 66 books contained in the Bible are all inspired books from God—they cannot be added to or subtracted from. Doctrine and teaching is only authoritative in that it is faithfully represented in God’s inspired and inerrant Word.

The Atonement

The Bible teaches that God’s creation has rebelled against its Creator, and as a result is under God’s curse and wrath (Genesis 3; John 3:16-36). Do to the curse that is upon mankind, our greatest need is to be reconciled to our Creator through Christ Jesus (Romans 5:6-16).

We affirm that Jesus Christ exclusively bore the wrath of God and the penalty due to those who have sinned (Romans 3:21-26). Jesus did this by substituting Himself for the sinner, standing in the place of a sinner enduring a punishment that He didn’t deserve (2 Corinthians 5:21). The Bible teaches that the whole world has fallen short of God’s perfect standard of righteousness which is necessary to gain entrance into heaven, and that Jesus the Christ is the sole means of salvation from the coming wrath against sin (John 14:6; Rom 3:23, 6:23; 1 Tim 2:5).

By God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus, all who believe the gospel are declared righteous on the basis of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection in fulfillment of the Scriptures (Rom 3:21-26, 8:1-4). By making Jesus an offering for sin and publicly crushing Him on the cross under the curse of God, God demonstrated His righteousness for the whole world to see, while also demonstrating that He can now justify (i.e. declare righteous) the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:25-26).

Man

We believe man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) and the sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image passing the image of Adam (sin) on to every man (Genesis 5:3). Because of sins existence in the flesh (Romans 7:18), every man is totally depraved and would not make a positive decision towards God if God did not intervene with grace (Romans 1:20-21; John 1 1-14, 16:7-12; Matthew 28:19-20).

Salvation

We affirm that salvation is not attained by religious works, but by the grace of God alone (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7). Salvation is received by the individual through repentance and faith alone (John 3:36, 17:3). Repentance is to stop believing what is untrue (incorrect) and to begin believing what is true, believing the gospel (Mark 1:14-15). Faith is recognizing your need for a Savior and calling upon God who is merciful to save them. True salvation will produce an active lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior and we can be sure of our salvation based on the fruit of our lives and the promise of God (see, 1 John).

Salvation is a work of God in the individual. God’s predestined purpose for each person He redeems is to be conformed into the image of His beloved Son, Jesus (Romans 8:29). All Christians everywhere are commanded to test themselves to see whether they be in the faith, and work out their salvation with fear and trembling (2 Corinthians 13:5; Philippians 2:12; 1 John).

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

The Word of God describes two on-going ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church. The first, water baptism, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the believer’s life. It is a public testimony to all that the person belongs now to Jesus. Baptism is for all believers and allows them to publicly identify with Jesus. The second ordinance, the Lord’s Supper, is a remembrance of the sacrificial and substitutionary death of the Lord and in the anticipation of His return. Communion is a sign of our participation in Christ and in unity with His church. Both institutions are intended for those who are born-again believers.

End Times

We affirm the bodily, personal, second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11; 17:30-31; Revelation 19:11-16). Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His kingdom and to render judgment upon all of Creation. This will occur at a day and time undisclosed by the Scriptures. We affirm the final judgment which will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, according to their relationship with Jesus Christ (Revelation 20:11-15). We affirm with the Bible the final state of the New Heaven and New Earth.

Marriage

“Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife…”, “…For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,…”, “Each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.”, “Finally the time came for him to marry her.” It is our sincere belief that marriage, as ordained by God, must be between one man and one woman. No other can be performed or condoned.  (Jeremiah 29:6; Romans 7:2; Genesis 21:21; Genesis 29:21; 1 Corinthians 7:2, 36, 39; Genesis 2:23-24; Ephesians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:25, 28-29, 31, 33).

Family Relationships

We believe that men and women are spiritually equal in position before God but that God has ordained distinct and separate functions for men and women in the home and the church. The husband is the head of the family (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:18-21).

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church and gave Himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25). The wife is to submit herself to the Scriptural leadership of her husband as she submits herself to Christ (Ephesians 5:22-24). Children are an heritage from the Lord. Parents are responsible for teaching their children and guiding them to the knowledge of God in Christ Jesus (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 5:21-33; Colossians 3:18-21).

Spirit’s Baptism/Giftings

We believe the baptism of the Spirit is God’s work of taking the believer out of Adam and fully immersing them in Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 15:22). There is no second baptism, only one (Ephesians 4:5), where the believer is born of Spirit and immersed in Christ. Yet, the believer is responsible for obeying the command of “Be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18), this is necessary to live a life of “rivers of living water” (John 7:38). The believer now abiding in Christ puts on display the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25). Additionally, the natural giftings of the natural man are used supernaturally by the Spirit (Romans 12:6:13), and the Spirit “can” when He deems necessary manifest Himself in great ways to advance the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 12:6-11).

The Church

We believe the mission of the church is to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). All individual disciples who make up the body of Christ are called to participate in this mission. The mission and the gathering are placed into the hands of elders of the local church to steward the mission and the people (Acts 14:23; 1 Timothy 5:7). The church is the pillar and safeguard of the truth (1 Timothy 3:15).
